The Pedestrian Advisory Committee needs YOU!
Do you walk in Arlington? Of course you do.
Regardless of your "mode of choice" for commuting or tooling around town -- car, bus, train, you name it -- EVERYBODY is a pedestrian at some point during the week.
And every pedestrian in Arlington, named "the most walkable city in U.S" by the American Podiatric Medicine Association in 2005, can thank Arlington's Pedestrian Advisory Committee for its ongoing role in making the county a safer, friendlier place to walk!
The Committee is always in search of prospective members from all "walks of life," including:
- Recreational walkers
- On-foot commuters
- "Fair weather" walkers
- Dog walkers
- Trail users
- PTA members and other parents
- People with mobility impairments
- Engineering, Planning & Design professionals
- Transportation professionals
- Health and wellness advocates and practitioners
- Pedometer users and wanna-be's
Since every citizen is also a pedestrian, by joining the Pedestrian Advisory Committee YOU can impact decisions that affect the health, safety and overall quality of life of every member of your community!
The PAC meets bi-monthly (on the odd-numbered months) in the evening.
