Joe's Petition

We, the citizens of the County of Arlington, petition the city to continue the sidewalk on N. 26th Street on either side connecting N. Wakefield St. to Vermont St. on the south side or N. Wakefield St. to Upland St. on the north side. This 1/4 mile stretch of road is the only sections of 31st/26th Street with out a sidewalk from Military Road all the way to North Jefferson St. The street is hilly and curves which make the lack of a sidewalk a very challenging and dangerous situation for pedestrians. There is a great deal of vehicle and for traffic because this is a connector street between Military Road and Glebe Road.  Some Williamsburg students who take the late bus home must also walk up this section of road. Please see the attached pictures.
