Fort Ethan Allen Walking Tour

When: 3:00-3:45 p.m.
Where: Fort Ethan Allen, 3829 N. Stafford Street
Who: Ages 7 - Adult. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Fee: Free

What: Built by the Union Army in the fall of 1861 to command the approach to Chain Bridge, the Fort had a perimeter of 736 yards, with emplacements for 39 guns. Fort Ethan Allen has the most extensive remaining features of any of the Civil War forts in Arlington. Our program will explore the earthworks and we will discuss how and why the fort was built.
