Arlington County has added more time in its pedestrian signals so that pedestrians have about 40 SECONDS to cross Lee Highway between Veitch Street and Spout Run Parkway.

Pedestrians Can Stop the Flow of Vehicles

Push the button and vehicular traffic will stop. At the most you?ll have to wait 60 seconds.

More Pedestrian Count Down Signals

  • 24 Pedestrian Count Down signals have been installed at the 6 intersections from Veitch Street to Spout Run Parkway.
  • Count Down Signals show the pedestrians the amount of time remaining to cross the street as they step out of the sidewalk while the ?WALK? image is displayed.

Coming Soon

  • Lighted pushbuttons on the signal poles to let pedestrians know their touch has been registered to activate the pedestrian signal and change the vehicular traffic signal.
  • Improved crosswalk marking at every intersection.
