Photo Walk with Visual Artist Angela B. Pan @ Rosslyn

Join WalkArlington for a photowalk in Rosslyn with Photographer Angela B. Pan. We’ll explore this vibrant urban neighborhood and some interesting spots nearby while Angela guides us on taking better photos with our cell phones.
Voted “Best Visual Artist in Washington, D.C.” by the Washington City Paper two years in a row, Angela B. Pan has had her images of Washington, D.C., published in the Washington Post, The White House Historical Association, and more. Her work has been featured in local galleries and publications of Apple, Lionsgate, and several luxury hotels. Her book, “Snap DC, Your Guide to Taking Extraordinary Photos of the National Mall and Beyond…” is the essential guide to photographing the nation’s capital. Her work may also been seen on postcards and 8″x10” prints sold at the National Mall’s book stores.

Getting here: Rosslyn is easily accessible by Metro, bus, or active transportation (walking, biking, bikeshare). The walk will start at Central Place Plaza, which is located at the Rosslyn Metro exits. Visit Car-Free Near Me (carfreenearme.com) to figure out the best route.

Walk & Learn: Street Design with a Transportation Engineer @ Rosslyn
May 25 @ 5:30 pm – 6:45 pm

WalkArlington presents a summer series of walk and learn opportunities to engage with some of Arlington’s experts and cool people.

On this walk, Dan Nabors, transportation engineer, will demonstrate how planning and engineering influence your everyday experience and enjoyment of sidewalks, land use, and street connectivity.

Dan Nabors is the Assistant Bureau Chief for Arlington County’s Transportation Engineering and Operations Bureau and a dynamic speaker who explains complex topics simply and clearly (we’ve seen him in action before!) so come ready to have fun and learn. He’ll be joined by staff from the Rosslyn Business Improvement District (BID), who have collaborated with him on several recent projects.

NEED TO KNOW

Free cold drinks will be provided at the start of the walk courtesy of WalkArlington.

MEET US THERE

Look for our group near the Rosslyn Metro exit on Central Place Plaza. We’ll be near the McDonald’s and the Rosslyn Farmers Market.

This 1 hour and 30-minute walk will take place along the Pike and will include a guided walk with stops at St. John’s Baptist Church, Freedman’s Village Bridge, and more. The walk will end at Pike Park to enjoy musician Rick Franklin performing roots music at the farmers market.
