Join Bike and WalkArlington in Arlington, Virginia on MLK Day, to clean up litter and debris on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail, a beautiful trail that’s enjoyed by cyclists and walkers alike.
Beginning on the Washington & Old Dominion Trail where it intersects with Columbia Pike. Look for the orange and blue Bike/WalkArlington tent on the trail near the intersection of Columbia Pike and South Four Mile Run Drive! We’ll work our way down the W&OD toward South George Mason Drive.
The focus will be on picking up the litter and trash that gathers in the vegetation near the side of the trail.
Refreshments and some fun giveaways will be provided as a thank-you to all who come out for the cleanup.
Please RSVP on Eventbrite so we can be sure to have enough supplies for everyone.
DUE TO ANTICIPATED HEAVY RAIN, THIS WALK HAS BEEN POSTPOSED TO APRIL 6.
Join WalkArlington and Alexandria Celebrates Women for a seven-mile women’s history walk that will start in Alexandria’s Old Town and end in D.C.
We’ll travel along the beautiful Mount Vernon Trail while enjoying women’s history briefings by experts along the route. Stops include Lady Bird Johnson Park, the Lincoln Memorial, and the Vietnam Women’s Memorial.
Bring a lunch and wear pink to mark the Cherry Blossom Festival.
If you’re not up for walking, you are welcome to bike the route. You can also leave at any time if seven miles feels like a bit too much for you.
This is going to be a scenic, healthy, and fun event—a fantastic learning opportunity and a way to celebrate Women’s History Month in the nation’s capital region.
We’ll start the walk in Alexandria at 99 Canal Center Plaza.
Join WalkArlington and Friends of the Mount Vernon Trail for a casual-paced, 5-mile walk to visit two of our favorite tulip patches on and near the Mount Vernon Trail. We will stop at both sites with time to take pictures. Stops include the Navy & Merchant Marine Memorial and the Netherlands Carillon. The walk will begin and end at Compass Coffee in Rosslyn.
Due to high interest, registration will be limited. Please register to confirm attendance.
